Q: What is HydraFacial™?
A: The HydraFacial™ combines:
1) The Exfoliation & Resurfacing of Microdermabrasion
2) The Skin Renewal of a Chemical Peel
3) The Hydration & Extractions of a Deep Cleansing Facial
The Hydrafacial™ removes dead skin cells and impurities while simultaneously bathing the new skin with cleansing, hydrating and moisturizing serums. It is THE only procedure that integrates cleansing, exfoliation, extraction and hydration simultaneously.

Q: How does it work?
A: The HydraFacial™ exfoliates dead skin cells and extracts impurities with a vacuum-based skin abrasion tip while simultaneously infusing the healthy underlying skin with active serums that cleanse deeply, exfoliate thoroughly, hydrate completely and provide residual antioxidant protection.

Q: How does it feel on my skin?
A: There is no discomfort during the procedure - it is often described as feeling like a "cool paintbrush moving slowly over the face". You may put on make-up and return to your normal activities right after the treatment since there is no downtime. The treatment is soothing, refreshing, non-irritating and immediately effective.

Q: Can I put makeup on after my treatment?
A: You may put on make-up and return to your normal activities right after the treatment since there is no downtime. Your Keldara Esthetician will be happy to provide a complimentary mineral makeup app after your treatment!

Q: I don't like extraction! Does Hydrafacial™ make it easier?
A: You bet it does! Extractions are effortless & painless, due to the multi-faceted spiral abrasion tip combined with serums that soften, lift, and extract sebum & impurities.

Q: What are the Super-Serums used during the treatment?
A: Three super-serums are available for your treatment:
1. Activ-4TM for Skin Rejuvenation - aids in firming & smoothing fine lines, resulting in clean, refined & ultra-moisturized skin. For all skin types.
Glucosamine & lactic acid exfoliating blend to soften sebum and impurities
Active botanical extracts to calm, soothe and hydrate the skin
Non-irritating advanced leave-on formulation
Aids in epidermal hyperpigmentation lightening
Patent-pending formulation
2. Beta-hdTM Salicylic Treatment for Acne Prone and/or Oily Skin - aids in extracting and help to fight future breakouts by softening sebum and impurities.

Q: How long does the treatment take?
A: At Keldara, we want you to have an effective treatment AND be able to relax and unplug from the world.
We follow the Hydrafacial™ process with the nourishing and repairing effects of a Vitamin C mask or our Ultra-hydrating masque leaving you with vibrant, healthy skin - all while performing a relaxing neck and shoulder massage. Approximate treatment time is 50 minutes.
Q: What results may be expected?
A: Here are some of the results after a Hydrafacial™ treatment:
- Visibly reduced fine lines & wrinkles

Q: How long do the results last? What do I need to do for maintenance?
A: Many people report seeing visible skin refinement and an even, radiant skin tone after just one treatment. These immediate smooth results and hydration may last for five to seven days or even longer.
The longer term results of visibly improved skin are typically visible after your new collagen/elastin starts to appear, approximately 3 weeks, and can last for months.
A series of 6 treatments, one treatment each week, is recommended for improving the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, and oily/acne-prone skin.
After your series, you will want to come in once to twice a month to maintain results.

Q: What is Crystal-free Microdermabrasion?
A: At Keldara, we use crystal-free Microdermabrasion technology. Crystal-free Microdermabrasion is an FDA approved system that effectively treats the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, brown spots, scars and acne blemishes.
This latest technology utilizes natural diamond chips plated to a stainless surgical-steel wand. This effectively polishes away dead skin layers to expose healthier skin and promotes new growth.
Because there are no crystals being propelled onto the skin, the crystal-free system allows the Aesthetician to treat areas closer to the eyes and those fine lines and wrinkles around the lips.

Q: What if I want to relax with a facial?
A: We recommend booking the Microdermabrasion Facial. This powerful facial treatment combines a full face and neck Microdermabrasion with The Keldara Balanced Facial. Total facial time is approximately 60 minutes.

Q: How many treatments will I need?
A: To achieve maximum results, several treatments are recommended, typically scheduled 1 to 3 weeks apart. You will experience a progressive improvement throughout your treatment program. Ask to schedule a consultation to determine the approximate number of treatments recommended for optimum results.

Q: How does my skin look immediately after treatment?
A: Microdermabrasion leaves your skin feeling soft and you will notice a healthy glow to your complexion. Due to the increase of circulation, a mild temporary blushing surrounding the treated area may be the only evidence of your therapy.

Q: How soon can I apply make-up after my peel?
A: Immediately after the peel. We do advise that you apply a factor 30 sunblock after your treatment to protect your skin. By doing this you prevent further photodamage to your skin.
Q: Is it painful?
A: All you'll feel is a mild tingling sensation as the peeling agent gets to work on your skin.

Q: How many treatments will I need?
A: At Keldara, we recommend a course of six peels to achieve the best results. After this, you can have a peel at regular intervals as part of your on-going skincare program.

Q: What does a Skinceuticals® Gel Peel involve?
A: A gel peel treatment is a specific technique for skin renewal. During this process, glycolic and lactic acid or salicylic and mandelic acid is applied to the skin for a short period of time and then neutralized to end the treatment. This procedure rapidly removes the damaged layer of surface skin cells revealing fresh skin.
